Dance Team Parents,
I wanted to thank you all for the genrous Christmas gift. I wasn't expecting that at all and was really taken by surprise! I want to take this opportunity to tell you how thankful I am not only for your generosity but for your daughters. They are a great bunch of girls. I very much enjoy working with them and was very moved by their giving spirits. Have a blessed holiday!

Just a quick note about our shopping trip Wednesday. I will be picking up some of the girls on Wednesday, so if your daughter needs a ride, let me know. We will meet at Wal-Mart on Old For Parkway at 4:00. We have a list of things the children need/want for Christmas. The older girl is in her school band and wanted a flute. We have found one and are having it refurbished. She needs jeans. She would like some computer games and an ipod. We are going to get her the least expensive ipod. The younger girl is eight. She also needs jeans. She loves Bratz dolls, especially Kloe and also anything High School musical. The mother loves to read and really enjoys reading about the Civil War.
We have two dance team members who have donated money and one who has donated a gift card she had. If anyone can donate anything additional it would be greatly appreciated. I know we are all on a tight budget and are trying to cut cost anywhere we can, but it will put to great use for this family.
Thank you so much for your help. The girls did great ringing the bell and also practicing their dance at Wal-Mart. The more they danced, the more people donated. Thank you for allowing your girls to participate.

More Details

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help with bell ringing. We have filled all spots. I thought we had both doors on Wednesday but we only have one. Because of this, we have enough girls. If your daughter would still like to come, please do. This way, we can change out and some can go in Wal-Mart and get warm for awhile.
I have found out more about our family we are going to help for Christmas. The mother is a single parent. She has been for around four years. Her husband left one day and she does not get any support from him. She has a 8 yr old girl and a 14 yr old girl. I do know that she works and is also working on her GED. She does exhaust all available resources for her family and seems to make it stretch most months. I am trying to find out what any specific needs are. We have $200 to shop with. If anyone would like to donate more money or gift cards, it would be appreciated.
We will go shopping next Wednesday (Dec. 10th), right after school and then return to my house. The girls will be having dinner at 6:30, then wrap presents for the girls. You can pick the girls up (from my house) around 8:00.See next post for directions and map.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Our address is 3006 Caraway Drive. We are on the other side of town in Carlyle subdivision right off of Osborne Lane. Take Memorial Parkway all the way past SportsComm toward Lebanon. Once you past St. Farm on your right, you will pass a strip center of offices then Osborne will be on your right. Turn right onto Osborne, then go about 3/4 mile and turn left in Carlyle. This is Caraway Drive. Our house is the second to last one on the right.

Bell Ringers

We are full for bell ringers for Tuesday night. Leila Hurst and myself will be the parents for Tuesday. The following girls are signed up for Tuesday evening:

Ashlynn, Lainey, Katie, Juliana and Brianne

Connie Leifheit is the only parent signed up for Wednesday evening. We need another parent for the second door. Jessica is signed up for Wednesday evening as well. We still need more volunteers for this night. It is from 6-8 pm. We will probably get through a little earlier though.

Please make sure that your girls are dressed in their warmup suits, white turtleneck and white BLAZE shirts. They will also need layers of clothes underneath so they will be warm. Tights and even long underwear if they have it. Gloves, hats and coats. They can also bring hot chocolate in a thermos if they want. It is going to be cooolllllddddd.......

If you have any questions, please let me know.
