Parent Meeting

Dear Dance Team Parents,

I need to meet with all parents on Thursday after practice at 6:00 p.m. in my room G-08. If you park in the back lot, the one opposite of the football field, you can come in the door up the steps. We need to talk about upcoming pep rallies, football games, and some housekeeping (booster club officers). If for some reason you are unable to attend, please let me know.

Also, since we will be meeting at 6:00, I will keep the girls to practice till this time. Thanks for your support.

Here is a copy of the form you need if you want to take an ad out in the football media guide http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=dqtm3wf_10fkzh7xdd&hl=en. It can be an ad for a business, encouragement for your dancer, or good luck to the seniors, etc. Just passing along more information.

Practice Times

Hello everyone,

I mentioned this to your dancers on Thursday, but this week only, I need us to practice from 3:15 to 5:00 on Monday, Aug. 4th and Thursday, Aug. 7th. I received my schedule for this week and we are finished at 3:00 each afternoon. Once school begins on Aug. 11th, we will practice each Monday and Thursday after school at 3:45 to 5:45

I also looked at the group pictures of the dance team on the Michael's website today. click on the sports pictures section and follow through by selecting Blackman High School and then groups and teams. I did not see the individual pictures, but I did not look too hard.

Football Tickets

Hello everyone,
The BHS football representative called me this afternoon and wanted me to pass along alittle more information about the season tickets to football games. Mrs. Givens forwarded everyone a flyer from the fooball team however here is a little more information.
-Entrance to each home game is $6.00 per person-this is set by the County for all games
-The dance team girls get in free, but all family members have to pay per person. So if you plan to watch your daughter, it is $6.00 per person to get in.
-There are 5 home varsity games, 4 home freshman games and JV games. Season tickets are good for all these home games.
-The football team is offering discounted tickets to those groups and their families that support the team during game time. For instance, cheerleaders, dance team, band, ROTC and football.
-The discounted ticket is $25.00 per person. This is a $5.00 savings if you go to all the games. Which most of us do because we want to watch our daughters.
-Now speaking from experience, when we play local county teams at home, Riverdale etc. they alone bring 3000 fans. All these fans have to stand in line to get their tickets. In the past, there have been people stand in line for an hour to get into the game during the local games. It is crazy, wonderful, but crazy!
-So to avoid these delays, you can either get there really early, and I do suggest early! Or purchase a season ticket at a discounted price and you don't have to wait in line at all. Just show them your ticket and you are in. No waiting!
-I just wanted to pass along this bit of information. It is well worth the price and avoids alot of standing in line.
-If you are interested, you can let me know and I will get your tickets for you. Kathy Puhr is the football representative that is handling the tickets. However, she has asked me to be the messenger and contact for the dance team. If you are interested, please mail a check to my address, BUT write the check to" BHS Football Booster Club". Not the dance team this time. Can you believe it?
-I will then get the tickets from Kathy and mail them to you. Our deadline is Aug. 21, no exceptions she said.

Information

Just some information I want to share with everyone.

First, I want to thank your daughters for coming to practice on Thurs and Friday, remembering the dance and practicing it and the sideline dances. We will continue to finish learning the sidelines this Thursday and start a new dance the following week.

The pictures that Michaels' took on Friday should be posted on their website by Monday. If you want to order these that is fine, but we will have more pictures made this fall at the studio for the yearbook. The yearbook pictures are usually a little better. I will let you know the date for this as soon as it is scheduled.

Freshman orientation is on Tuesday, Aug. 5th at 6:30. All dancers need to be in the gym, dressed and ready by 6:15. This will give them a few minutes to stretch.
